Who is this course for?
This training course is designed to give you the skills to gain access to and move around structures typically found within the entertainment or theatre sectors or similar. The course will also give you the skills necessary to undertake rescues from height of an incapacitated or injured colleague.
The course covers a range of work at height methods from simple restraint systems to some of the more advanced ‘on rope’ access techniques. During the course you will be taught how to move around the structure at low level before moving to more exposed areas to complete simulated work tasks, always fully supervised by your trainer.
The rescue elements of the course are centred around the use of the Lyon Pick Off Rescue Kit in a variety of locations and scenarios.
For example:
- Rescue from energy absorbing lanyards
- Rescue from work-positioning lanyards when either in a standing position against a structure or in suspension
- Rescue from a mobile fall arrest device when using a vertical flexible anchorage line
We will provide you with a broad understanding of the uses and limitations of the equipment and the working techniques involved. Once the basics are covered, your training will progress onto realistic scenario-based ‘incidents’ within our purpose built training area.
