    Obelisk & Tribus

    Who is this course for?

    Personnel with experience of rope rescue/access systems who are required to use the Lyon Equipment OBELISK and/or TRIBUS for lowering or raising live loads.

    This course provides product training in the use of the Lyon Equipment OBELISK quadpod and TRIBUS tripod in a variety of different configurations and environments.

    Designed specifically for the emergency services and rapid intervention situations, both products have unique features that make them ideal for this type of work. Training will include user checks, assembly, configuration options and use in both the built and natural environments.

    Course Details

    Duration: 1 Day
    Venue: Lyon Equipment Training Centre, Tebay, CA10 3SS

    Prerequisites
    • Knowledge of two line working for rope rescue/access
    • Medically fit and healthy
    • The minimum age of candidates is 18 years
    Course Content
    • Review of relevant workplace legislation
    • Pre-use checks of the OBELISK and TRIBUS
    • Anchor selection and rigging
    • Assembly of the OBELISK and TRIBUS
    • Rigging for lowering and raising
    • Configuring and positioning of the OBELISK and TRIBUS
    • Use of the OBELISK and TRIBUS for lowering and raising
    • Disassembly and stowage
    • Medical considerations
    Assessment

    The course assessment is by short written test and continuous practical assessment by Lyon staff.

    Certification

    A certificate of attendance and test and ID card record of training will be issued to successful candidates. Certificate valid for three years from date of assessment.
